Tea Profile
Bai Mudan, translated as “White Peony” is a type of white tea grown in the Fujian Province of China. It is the unopened bud of the tea plant – made with one leaf shoot and two immediate young leaves.
Origin
Bai Mudan is mainly produced in Fujian, China. The subtropical monsoon climate with moderate winters and abundant rainfalls of the coastal areas is perfect in producing the superb quality tea. Bai Mudan is plucked in the early spring and sun-withered for an extended period of time before being piled for oxidation, during which enzymes of the tea leaves interact with other constituents to produce the distinct and fine aroma and taste of the tea.
