Detoxing Post Chinese New Year

conditioning drink food peppermint skin sweat

How has everybody’s Chinese New Year been? The Roleaf team hopes that you had fun visiting friends and family. We are also here to help with getting your body back on track after eating so much junk food and sitting day and night.

Is your throat sore? Do you have a bit of a cough? Is your skin breaking out or your body feeling sluggish and bloated?  Here are a few friendly pointers that will help you get back on track.

Roleaf Tip 1: Drink! And no we aren’t talking about beer and soft drinks. Chug down lots and lots of water to flush out all the excess sodium in your system. It will help with your bloatedness and water retention.

Roleaf Tip 2: Sweat it out. After sitting in air conditioned rooms for the past few days, your body is probably in need of a dire sweat to flush out toxins. Go for a brisk walk outdoors. Try a sauna even!

Saunas are great for detoxing and reducing water retention. Just make sure to stay hydrated before and after.

Roleaf Tip 3: Ingest cooling substances. All that junk food has probably made your body very “heaty”. Barley, wheatgrass, peppermint tea – take these to cool down your body and get rid of unwanted effects like breakouts and sore throats.

Our peppermint tea is amazing for cooling the body.

Roleaf Tip 4: Refeed your body with whole foods. Your body was not meant to survive on junk. Meat, vegetables, fruits – eat them and start to re-nourish your body with real nutrients.

Roleaf Tip 5: Has your waistline expanded? Has the number on the scale gone up? There is no easy way around it. The excess calories have to be worked off.

Here’s a super simple conditioning workout that you can do at home to exercise off those extra calories!

5 burpees

15 squats

20 box jumps

Set a timer to 20 minutes, and do as many rounds as possible without stopping!

With these 5 tips you will get your body back in good condition in no time.

With love,

Roleaf.
