Natural Sore Throat Remedies

antioxidant flavonoid infection inflammatory peppermint sick sorethroat

A sore throat is usually one of the first signs that your body is about to fall sick or be hit by a terrible infection.

Taking the usual throat numbing lozenges only help to temporarily cover up the symptoms but it doesn’t help heal the underlying infection. Try these all natural remedies instead!

  1. Manuka Honey

Gathered from the native manuka bush of New Zealand, this specific strain of honey is one of Mother Nature’s most powerful antibiotics. The higher the UMF factor, the more potent the antibiotic properties.

Quality Manuka honey has a gritty thick texture.

Roleaf Tip: Twice a day, mix a tablespoon of Manuka honey with one of our herbal infusions for a soothing, yummy and bacteria butt-kicking remedy.

  1. Salt Water

Mix about half a teaspoon of salt in warm salt water – as warm as you can take it. Gurgle this mixture several times a day to soothe inflammation and to kill any nasty infections.

  1. Peppermint Spray

Mix a few drops of quality peppermint essential oil with water, and use it as a throat spray. Peppermint has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. Fresh breath and throat relief? Yes please!

  1. Mega doses of Vitamin C

At the first sign of an itchy throat, down those Vitamin Cs to immediately boost your body’s immunity and prevent that infection from turning into a full blown cold.
